Theme: Fruits of the Spirit

Text: “And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying. And what shall we do?  And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.” – Luke 3:14.

Comment:  Contentment is a state of feeling or showing satisfaction with one’s possessions, status or situation in life with little or no complaints. It is a state of happiness and satisfaction that gives peace of mind. Upholding the virtue of contentment, the greatest teacher ever known to mankind, Jesus Christ, said: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36) Furthermore, the master said, “Take heed and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” (Luke 12:15.) Apostle Paul says: “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Timothy 6:6)  Agur, the man of God prayed thus: “feed me with food convenient for me” – Proverbs 30:7-9.
