Theme: UNDERSTANDING THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES

Text: “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” – Matthew 24:7, 8.

Comment: When Jesus Christ made the above prophecy, he was disseminating today’s world news. The outbreak of World War I (1914 – 1918) and World War II (1939 – 1945), saw the fulfillment of the prophecy which was followed by a widespread epidemic – the Spanish Influenza which took the lives of over 20 million people. Today, men send rockets to the moon but they have not conquered malaria, cancer, heart attack and other deadly diseases. Indeed, when one disease seems conquered, another one rears its ugly head. There have been earthquakes in some parts of the world that took millions of lives and today, hardly a year passes by, without new cases being reported and of course hunger is prevalent all over the world. A good understanding of these signs as foretold by Christ is essential in our race for salvation as they will linger until God Almighty will punish the wicked at the battle of Armageddon. – Matthew 24:21; Zephaniah 1:14-18.
