Theme: MANAGING CHRONIC ILLNESSES

Text: “And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.” – Luke 8:48.

Comment: The above statement was made by Jesus Christ as a commendation of the faith of the woman with the issue of blood, who believed that by touching Jesus Christ’s garment, she would be healed. As the record puts it, the woman had been with this problem for 12 years until she heard of Jesus Christ and came to meet him.  She could not talk to him face to face to make her request, she had the faith that if she could touch the helm of his garment, she would be healed.  And so it actually happened.  (Matthew 15: 21-28; Mark 5:25-34; Luke 8:43-48) Though we may not be in the class of the high and mighty in the world, yet God knows us and addresses our problems when we exercise implicit faith in Him. And when we have been healed we should not forget to show appreciation to Him. It could be seen therefore what wonders strong faith in God can do in the life of a Christian.
“I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” Declared David the King. “He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” – Psalm 40:1-3.
