Theme: THE WILL OF GOD

Text: “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” – Matthew 7:21.

Comment: The preaching of the word of God is a glorious work. (Romans 10:15). Notwithstanding, there is a stern warning in many portions of the Bible against false prophets. Christ himself stated in Matthew 24:11,24 that false prophets and false Christ will arise and deceive many. They appear to be very holy, with righteous tendencies. Added to their ability being used by the devil to do or perceive to do miracles they easily deceive the people and amass great wealth at the expense of the people while leading them to destruction. They emphasize on prosperity instead of the fear of God. Christ said about them, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matthew 7:15). St Peter stated clearly in 2 Peter 2:1-3: “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” Obedience to the will of God is what attracts provisions, protections and prosperity on the people from God and eventual salvation in His Kingdom by His grace and power.
