Devotional Guide, Today’s Reading Thursday, 13th June, 2024

Text: “But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.” – Galatians 4:18.

Comment: The emphasis in today’s passage is on “always”. For all who aspire to be citizens in the fully established Kingdom of God, consistency, steadfastness, persistency, continuity, etc., are their guides as far as doing good works is concerned. The Almighty God is against backsliding, apostacy and despondency. In Luke 9:62, the warning is given by our Lord and Saviour, thus: “No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” When one has identified with the truth, it becomes imperative for him to show zeal, actively participating in every good work, even exploring areas of activities, hence St. Paul wrote “that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.” – Titus 3:8.
