Behaviour disorder is a general term for persistent inappropriate actions or emotions that occur under natural circumstances. It is a maladjustment behaviour which usually starts from childhood and may continue to adulthood at the instance of Satan the Devil. Text: “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” – Exodus 20:16.
Comment: Lie-telling is a behaviour disorder which belongs to the Conduct Disorder (CD) type. To some persons, lie-telling is second nature as they have been engaged in it from childhood to the extent that they no longer have prick of conscience when doing it. It is a very bad behaviour as it is directly linked with Satan the Devil, the father of lies. (John 8:44) The tragic end of Ananias and Sapphira should drive spiritual fear into those who engage in lie-telling to desist from the act. (Acts 5:1-11; Ephesians 4:25) Rewards should be given to those who are truthful to encourage honesty while punishment should be meted out to serve as deterrent to lie-telling. – Proverbs 6:16-17; Proverbs 12:19, 22; Matthew 5:37; Psalm 15:1-2.
