Theme: COPING WITH LONELINESS

Text: “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40: 28-31 – English Standard Version.

Comment: God gives strength to the weak, to all those who wait for Him. In moments of loneliness, people become faint and weary. But by turning to God and trusting in Him, one’s strength will be renewed. (2 Corinthians 4:16;  Deuteronomy 31:6,8) God will never be tired in meeting our needs. As a lonely person, one’s thoughts often run in different directions. Sleeping becomes a problem. Some people become aggressive and hopeless, saying that nobody loves them. Some people even develop physical illnesses. The Bible comforts believers by saying that God gives strength to persons who are in such conditions. (John 9:30-38;  Jeremiah 15:15-21;  Psalm 33:18,19). As observed earlier, for one’s strength to be renewed by God, he must trust in Him. When feeling lonely, let us learn to pray and study the Scriptures daily. – James 5:13.
