Theme: THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Text: “As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.” – Isaiah 59:21.

Comment: God Almighty is called the God of truth. (Isaiah 65:16) His purpose is that the truth should be handed down from one generation to the other. (Joel 1:3) Jesus Christ, the world’s greatest advocate of truth and freedom, was full of grace and truth. (Ps 85:11; John 1:17) He handed over the truth to the Apostles who in turn handed it over to the Other Sheep. (1 John 2:27; Revelation 22:17) God Almighty continues to avail His true worshippers the holy spirit to enable them retain and continue to propagate the Truth. We should all continue to study to show ourselves “approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. (2 Timothy 2:15) We should be always ready to explain the faith and boldly contend for the truth which had been delivered to the saints. (1 Peter 3:15; Mark 8:38; Jude 3) But to be taken seriously, we should be seen to be practicing what we preach. “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” – 2 Timothy 2:20, 21. Compare Matthew 5:16.
