Theme: ABOUNDING IN THE WORK OF GOD
Text: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:21.
Comment: Apart from the aspects of behaviour and dealings with men, it is of vital importance that we examine ourselves in regard to what we believe, teach or do in the service of God, as to whether they are in accord with the will of God. Otherwise we worship Him in vain. Doctrines are the very basis of the Christian Faith and so should not be taken for granted. If they are false there is danger in that they cannot lead one to salvation. We should therefore examine the teachings of the various religious organisations with a view to ensuring that we are not being misled. The true organization of God is the one that preaches the truth of His word without mixing it with lies. John the apostle admonished: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” – 1 John 4:1.
