Theme: Self-Examination

Text: Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?  Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.” – Lamentations 3:39, 40.

Comment: There are some people who, when they suffer one kind of misfortune or the other, resort to accusing others of being responsible for their troubles.  True worshippers of God should not behave or act in that way.  When a Christian suffers any set back or misfortune in life what he should do first, is to examine his ways – perhaps his troubles are of his own making due to sin/sins he had committed. And amends should be made by way of sincere repentance. If the troubles are not his making but at the instance of the devil, he should remain faithful to God and continue in righteousness, patiently waiting on God by His grace. – Psalm 27:13, 14; Revelation 22:11.
