Text: “This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.” – Psalm 102:18.
Comment: God Almighty created man in His image and likeness. (Genesis 1:26, 27) The likeness of God in man are His attributes of wisdom, power, justice and love. Mankind is therefore expected to use these attributes to offer unto God a deserving and acceptable worship. Anything short of this expectation will be to the detriment of such ones. When Nebuchadnezzar the King of Babylon, who was blessed by God and he became prosperous, refused to give God Almighty the glory He deserved, he was driven from among men, was given the heart of a beast and was made to eat grass as oxen, for seven years. And when he came back to his senses, he extolled and worshipped the Almighty God. (Daniel 4: 33-37) Indeed, “…man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.” – Psalm 49:12, 20; Proverbs 3:5-9.
