Text: “But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.” – Psalm 71:14
Comment: The key text is simply telling us not to be tired of hoping in God even when our expectations have not been granted. Furthermore, it gives the understanding that while hoping in God, we should not relent in doing the will of God by way of carrying out our spiritual duties in His service. A striking instance is Zechariah and Elizabeth. Despite the problem of childlessness they encountered, they continued keeping the commandments of God and carrying out their God-given task in His service. In God’s due time, He sent an angel to inform Zechariah that his wife Elizabeth would conceive and bear a son even at old age. (Luke 1:5-57) It is vital to hope in God, not for a while but continually and to wait “until that he have mercy upon us.” – Psalm 123:1, 2; 147:10, 11.
