Theme: IT PAYS TO SERVE GOD FAITHFULLY TILL THE END

Text: “Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.” – Ecclesiastes 11:9.

Comment: Christians should not imbibe everything that is in vogue without examining it critically from the Bible point of view. The Bible is our guiding light, not the views of worldly philosophers and fashion designers, musicians, actors and actresses, sports stars, etc. Solomon the prophet says: “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.” (Proverbs 6:23) Arthur S. Maxwell at page 24 of his book, Your Bible and You, wrote: “Come to your Bible in the innocence of youth, wondering, dreaming, hoping, and you will find it radiant with glowing ideals and worthy ambitions, and with power to make your most beautiful dreams come true”. What we should understand from this statement is that we should always consult or look into the Bible to make sure that things we do are in harmony with the will of God.     The Bible says: “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” – Psalm 119:9-11.

St. Paul said this much when he exhorted Timothy thus, “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” – 2 Timothy 2:20-22.
