Text: “Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words. The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver. Thy statutes have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.” – Psalm 119:57, 72, 54.
Comment: The precepts of God Almighty are sometimes termed the spiritual harp of God because of the inherent capacity to “sweeten a bitter heart” or “make glad the heart that once was sad.” Bible discourses on miraculous deliverances, the hope of the dead, God’s providence, God’s established Kingdom, etc., rejuvenates, stabilizes, and encourages us to continue in the race of salvation with “diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end”. (Hebrews 6:11) In the light of the above, the Psalmist stated: “This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. I remembered thy judgments of old, O LORD; and have comforted myself. Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.” – Psalm 119:50, 52, 88.
