Theme: AWAKE TO RIGHTEOUSNESS AND SIN NOT
Text: “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.” – 1 Corinthians 5:1.
Comment: God spake through his servant Moses as recorded in Leviticus chapter eighteen verse eight “The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father’s nakedness.” (Leviticus 18:8). The sinful act of incest, serious as it is in the sight of God and man, is what some in the name of civilization or modernity get themselves involved in. All such must retrace their steps, repent thoroughly and refrain from this wicked act immediately as the LORD will not spare all such including the women who take pleasure in committing this heinous crime.
God declared through Isaiah the Prophet “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes, cease to do evil; learn to do well,… Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” – Isaiah 1:16-20.
We should all strive to be doing the will of God so that He will continue to show us His favour. The Lord stated: “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” – John 8:29.
