Theme: MAINTAINING GOOD WORKS

Text: “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” – John 4:34.

Comment: No admonition on MAINTAINING GOOD WORKS will be thorough if reference is not made of the perfect example, which is, the faith of our Ransomer, Jesus Christ. Of himself, he testified: “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day”. – John 9:4.

His resolve as expressed in John 4:34 was in reaction to the persuasion from his disciples, requesting him to eat, but he insisted, rather preferring to prioritize the work of God. As early as age 12, Christ had shown interest in spiritual fellowship, in imparting knowledge to others. (Luke 2:43-49) Apostle Peter had this testimony of his master, Christ, when he declared, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38) This noble quality of taking delight in godly works, should be emulated by all who lay claim to be true disciples. Said St. Paul, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…” – Philippians 2:5.
