Theme: WHY SOME PRAYERS ARE NOT ANSWERED BY GOD
Text: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” – Philippians 4:6.
Comment: Taking into cognisance our emotions, we must not be given to murmuring and complaining while we wait on God. Instead we should keep giving thanks to God for the grace of life and other good things we enjoy from Him. King David said: “But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.” (Psalms 71:14) Philippians 4:7 says: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” This fulfilled on Hannah who, after she had prayed to God, “her countenance was no more sad”. God Almighty granted her petition by blessing her with the Prophet Samuel and five other children. “… So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.” – 1 Samuel 1:9, 10-18; 2:21.
