Theme: BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL

Text: “The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” – Isaiah 50:4.

Comment: Aside the satisfaction and nourishment we derive from the word of God, it both uplifts and revives us, especially during challenging circumstances at the instance of Satan the devil. Elaborating on this, Paul, the apostle stated that the contents of the Sacred Volume are for our “learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” (Romans 15:4) King David disclosed his yearning for the spiritual food when he wrote: “This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me. Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.” (Psalm 119:50, 92, 93) At a time of peril, when Satan is intensifying his desperation to frustrate the efforts of those who are given to the sincere worship of our Maker, equipped with knowledge of God’s word, those who trust in Him shall enjoy His peace by His grace. – Psalm 119:165; Isaiah 26:2-4.
