Theme: IS IT VAIN TO SERVE GOD?

Text: “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” – James 1:2-4.

Comment: As mortals, we cannot foretell the future, but are optimistic for a better tomorrow by the grace of God.  For the believer, this optimism is fueled by patience and faith in God’s promises. This being so, it is pertinent that we wait on God and His time which is always the best as going before God Almighty would make us miss His plans for us. God Forbid!  Travails and tribulations are allowed by God to prepare His children for greater blessings, honours and privileges in the future. (Romans 4:19-25; Hebrews 6:11-15) Rather than losing our confidence in God or seek an “alternative” to the Most High out of impatience, we should constantly arm ourselves with the understanding that, “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.” – Romans 8:28.
