Theme: Casting All Our Burden On The Lord
Text: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”. – Matthew 11:28-30.
Comment: The text for today is an open invitation by Jesus Christ to all mankind who are weighed down or burdened by the problems and struggles of life. Jesus Christ gave this clarion call to one and all to come to him, learn by cultivating his exemplary qualities and taking part in the work of God. If this they do, God Almighty through Jesus Christ would make their burdens in this life to become lighter to bear, and hence they themselves would experience relief and rest from worries and anxieties. Truly, Jesus Christ is the one sent by God to give mankind relief from the various troubles of life man suffers at the instance of Satan the Devil. – Luke 4:18, 19.
Therefore, as true Christians who have identified with the worship of God through Jesus Christ, we should not allow ourselves to be troubled by the challenges we face in this evil world. Jesus Christ admonished: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. John 14:27; 16:33.
