Theme: GIVING GOD THE KIND OF WORSHIP HE DESERVES
Text: “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” – John 6:38.
Comment: For one to give God the kind of worship He deserves, one MUST do it in a manner that is pleasing and acceptable unto God and not according to one’s will. Following the example of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, we should do the work of God according to God’s will as highlighted in the main text for the day. Christ himself declared: “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” (John 5:30) Doing the will of God involves worshipping Him in truth and in righteousness, keeping His laws and commandments, doing His work according to His will and not according to our own dictates and desires. – See Romans 12:1; Galatians 6:7.
