Theme: UNDERSTANDING THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES
Text: “The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness”. – Zephaniah 1:14, 15.
Comment: The magnitude of the impending battle of God Almighty that will mark the close of this evil world cannot be described enough in human words. Nahum declared: “What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.” (Nahum 1:9) Human wars, no matter how destructive the weapon they use, cannot be compared to it. It is by far worse than the flood in the days of Noah, as the devil and his demons will all be killed. The wealth and riches of people will not deliver them. (Zephaniah 1:16-18) Only the righteous shall be delivered by God. “Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.” (Proverbs 11:4; Daniel 12:1) Let us, therefore, strive to practice the righteousness of God so as to be saved and blessed by Him. – 1 Corinthians 15:34.
