Text: “To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.” – Titus 1:4.
Comment: Like Timothy, Titus was a spiritual son to St. Paul. He was a Greek Christian convert that ministered with St. Paul. Unlike Timothy, Titus was not circumcised because he had no Jewish descent. (Galatians 2:1-3) Titus was very faithful in ministration to the Christian converts at Corinth when Paul sent him to assist in the collection for needy Christian brethren in Judea. (2 Corinthians 12:17,18; 8:1-6) Titus reported to Paul the state of the Corinthian Christians, their obedience to the word of God and this commendation brought happiness to St. Paul. (2 Corinthians 7:6,7) Christian youths should learn from the good works of Titus. King Solomon exhorted: “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.” – Ecclesiastes 12:1.
