Theme: THE WILL OF GOD

Text: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” – Psalm 119:105.

Comment: The word of God tells us the will of God on how we should conduct ourselves both in doctrines and instructions. When a person therefore lives his life following the guidelines of the Scriptures, such a one will be able by God’s grace to avoid the various snares of the devil. “I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word. Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” (Psalm 119:101,104). In Psalm 1, the Bible warns against keeping company with people who scorn the word of God.  “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Proverbs 6:23 says: “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life”.
