Text: “Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.” – Hebrews 2:1.
Comment: As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are not to deviate from God’s word contained in the Book of books, as it is written: “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law… This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:7, 8) It is of great gain to read, hear the words of God and do them. Scripture says: “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” – Revelation 1:3. Consider also Isaiah 34:16, 17; Psalm 119:33-36, 80; James 1:22-25.
