Theme: MAINTAINING GOOD WORKS
Text: “But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” – John 5:17.
Comment: In order to sustain the universe, and ensure that everything works according to the divine order, God Almighty is always working. Hanani the seer says of Him, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” – 2 Chronicles 16:9.
Our Saviour, Christ Jesus, in his defense over effecting healing on the Sabbath day, made the statement in John 5:17, indicating an aspect of the likeness of the Father in him, which is, continuity in good works. This attribute in both great Personalities are worth emulating, as “pilgrims in a sinful world on pilgrimage to Paradise.” Our watchword should be “Onward March”, and never be weary in well doing.
