Theme: TO DO GOOD AND TO COMMUNICATE, FORGET NOT

Text: “Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did.” – Acts 9:36.

Comment: The death of Tabitha, a woman philanthropist, generated a lot of sympathy among her people whom she had lifted with her good works and liberality. Therefore, on learning of her death, they took urgent steps to send for Apostle Peter to come to their aid. “Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.” (Acts 9:39, 40) It is fitting to state here that her open-handedness earned her grace from the LORD through Apostle Peter. King David said: “Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.” – Psalm 125:4.
