Text: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10.
Comment: To be dismayed means to be distressed, alarmed, concerned or having anxiety over a change in situation, an occurrence or an event. The uncertainties of life create this kind of emotions in man. As we go through life with plans in our head for progress, prosperity, and long life, anything that happens and seems to affect our plans causes dismay. Jehovah the Almighty God who sees our end from our beginning is therefore giving us this assurance. We should go to him in prayer, seek direction from Him and He will make away for us, turn that situation to our good and give us an expected end. “Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.” (Isaiah 35:3, 4) God said through Isaiah the Prophet: “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” (Isaiah 41:13) Kind David also added a voice in Psalm 27:4, 5 “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life … For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.”
