Theme: DEALING WITH OUR DOUBTS AND FEARS

Text: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” – Psalms 119:105.

Comment: God directs us with His word. This enables us to do the right things. Obeying His instructions in any given circumstance enables us to come out of such situations unscathed. These instructions from God comes to us by the word of God preached to us, advice from elders of the church, godly advice from spouses and children in the home, godly advice from friends and colleagues. The human mind tends to think otherwise sometimes and may decide to ignore such instructions and do things the way we think or see as the best or quickest and more satisfying solution to us. This approach has never ended well in the long run for anybody even though in the short run may seem to be gratifying. – Proverbs 3:5-7.

Many have done things their own way and ended up in more difficult conditions; even death. (Proverbs 4:13; 23:12) The danger of not following the instructions of God because we doubt them is that we could get to a point of no return and regret. ‘And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!’ and reproofs on our actions and intentions is also a way of God guiding us by His word. ‘ – Proverbs 5:12,13.
