Theme: THE VOICE OF CONSCIENCE
Text: “Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned”. – 1 Timothy 1:5.
Comment: It is commonplace these days to see individuals and social media influencers post videos of their acclaimed acts of charity for the world to see and praise. This they do to gain followers on social media and attract traffic to their blog sites for worldly recognition and material gain. However, the text under reference while reiterating the importance of charity (love), went further to state that it must be done out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and faith devoid of pretense. In light of the foregoing, true Christians should understand the Bible’s standard of charity. Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ succinctly dealt on this subject in Matthew 6:1-4. We, therefore, should exercise a good conscience when carrying out acts of charity, with the understanding that we are carrying out the will of God and not mere social acts to garner man’s praise. – Psalm 112:9; Romans 12:8.
