Theme: BUILDING NEW JERUSALEM

Text: “Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.” – Hebrews 12:12, 13.

Comment: God has set before us (who have been called to the way of truth and life, New Jerusalem) a race which the Scripture calls the “race of salvation”. In this race only those who persevere, who are focused, shaking away all the hurdles and obstacles put on the way by satan the devil and run the race to the end will by the grace of God win the prize which is salvation.

In addition to struggling to overcome sin daily and living a holy life, our contribution (be it financial, physical or intellectual) to building New Jerusalem is part of the race of salvation.  Satan will try to stop us from contributing to the building of New Jerusalem using all means available to him, including some of our fellow worshippers who will discourage or mock us. We should not be deterred or discouraged. – Phillipians 3:13,14.

As long as we continue to do all we can in the building of New Jerusalem, God Almighty will prosper us as he did to Hezekiah. “And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.” 2 Chronicles 31:20, 21.
