Theme: GOD'S WORD - A LAMP TO MY FEET

Text: “I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.” – Psalm 85:8.

Comment: The joy of being in God’s presence for worship was expressed by David the prophet in Psalm 122:1, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”  In fulfillment of Isaiah 2:3, the invitation is still open for lovers of truth and righteousness to congregate in God’s house, “and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths”.  The laws of God enhance peaceful living among people, (Luke 6:31, Romans 12:17-21), teach us to suffer ourselves to be defrauded for the sake of peace (1 Corinthians 6:7), justify us when we do the right or indict us when we err, (Acts 2:37; Romans 2:15) and stabilize us when we may feel offended (Psalm 119:165) or faced with anxiety (Philippians 4:6, 7).  Often times, refusal to adhere to God’s laws brings regret. (Proverbs 5:7,12,13) May God Almighty give us hearts of flesh to always surrender our will to the dictate of His infallible laws. – Ezekiel 36:26, 27
