Text: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”. Matthew 5:16
Comment: One vital way for the building of New Jerusalem is for us to be shining examples to others on how a good Christian life should be. We cannot say we are Christians if we cannot create a clear divide between us and others who are not in the way of truth by our beliefs and conduct. Compromises must not be made on beliefs. Exemplary lives by behavior should be our watchword. – 1 Corinthians 5:9-13.
St. Paul, writing to Titus concerning men said, “But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience” and “Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you” and for the women he admonished, “The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed”. Titus 2: 1,2, 6-8, 3-5.
