Text: “All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord.” – Colossians 4:7.
Comment: Tychicus was one of St. Paul’s faithful companions in the ministry of Christ. He was from Asia Minor. After the riot or uproar against St. Paul at Ephesus, he set himself to go to Macedonia and Greece. At Greece the Jews also laid wait for him as he was to sail to Syria. Tychicus was among the disciples that were in his company. (Acts 20:1-4) While Apostle Paul was in prison, he sent Tychicus with letters to Ephesus and Colossae to inform the brethren of his state of affairs. From St. Paul’s writings, Tychicus was an impressive and praiseworthy character. He was a trusted messenger, preacher, faithful and loyal aide to Paul. Much confidence was reposed on him in sending him to accomplish important assignments. Worshippers of God should emulate Tychicus in bringing encouragement and succour to their fellow brethren by God’s grace and power. – Hebrews 10:32-34, 24.
