Theme: INTEGRITY

Text: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”. – Hebrews 12:1, 2.

Comment: Considering the promise of salvation to all faithful worshippers of God, we are admonished to put aside all sins that easily beset us and patiently run the race of salvation. (Luke 21:19) In 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, it is written “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God”. – See also Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 15:33, 34.

Text: “Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing and bewrayeth it not.” – Proverbs 29:24.

Comment: One who has decided to serve God, and be saved, should be careful not to partake in, inherit, or cover up other people’s misdeeds. It is also not his place to lay accusations that are unsubstantiated. Scripture warns that we should not “be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure.” (1 Timothy 5:22; Ephesians 5:1-7) If one had witnessed a man’s sin, integrity dictates that he divulges it at the time of inquisition, else he is an accomplice. “And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.” – Leviticus 5:1; Jeremiah 48:10; Romans 1:32.
