Theme: Casting All Our Burden On The Lord

Text: “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time”. – Revelation 12:12.

Comment: The Holy Bible gives the understanding that Satan the Devil is the author of the woes, sorrows and travails of man. He caused the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden resulting in sorrows for women during conceptions and child-bearing as well as in infertility of the soil, and difficulties generally, making man to labour hard before he eats all the days of his life. – Genesis 3:16-19.

The woes and sorrows of man have increased in this age of the last day consequent upon the expulsion of Satan the Devil from heaven leading to the first World War (1914-1918) and other misfortunes such as famine (food scarcity), pestilences (disease epidemics/pandemics), earthquakes etc., suffered in high degree by man. (Revelation 12:10-12; Matt 24:7-8) Jesus Christ stated that there would be unprecedented degree of distress in the world in this age when he declared: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken”. (Luke 21:25-26). Going further, our Saviour charged his true followers to look to God with faith for succour when he said: “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh”. Luke 21:28.
