“Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy and not with grief for that is unprofitable for you.” – Hebrews 13:17.
Obedience is an evidence of humility and meekness. The meek are regarded as the teachable ones, easy to guide and direct like sheep. God Almighty has given us His worshippers' laws to guide us in this world of sin and there are those whom He has put in position of authority as custodians of these laws. They should be respected and obeyed. It is also their duty to make sure that these laws are kept or obeyed, in that, where they fail in their duty, God will hold them accountable, on the other hand, God will not find us guiltless where we refuse to obey these laws that are being handed down to us.
There are some people who feel too big or important to abide by rules and regulations of the Organization, Office, Association, Community, which they belong, they choose to mark themselves out as disorderly persons, they also exhibit this conduct even in the Church to create confusion, God is not the author of confusion but of peace as in all Churches of the Saints (1Corinthians 14:33, 40). Christians are therefore advised to be law abiding. God has created man a free moral agent; He has also spelt out clearly the reward of obedience and consequences of disobedience. We are advised to be obedient so as to be on the favoured side of God and that is to be saved in His Kingdom when fully established. – Job 36:11.
