GKS installs new President, other members of the Executive Board

Salem City, the headquarters of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS) – The Church of The Living God, was agog with celebrations at the weekend as Brother Felix Adedokun was formally inducted as the President of the Church while other members of the Executive Board were put into their various offices at a special divine service, which was transmitted online.

The event which took place at the GKS Service Hall, Salem City, Warri, Delta State last Sunday, February 27, 2022 had in attendance a number of dignitaries including Mr. Johnbull Edema, the Commissioner Bureau of Special Duties, who represented the Executive Governor of Delta State, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa; the Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Honourable (Dr.) Michael Tidi; Rt. Honourable (Dr.) Emmanuel O. Okoro, Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Rural and Community Development;  Brother Emmanuel Ogidi, Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Neighbourhood Watch and Chairman, Delta State Security Trust Fund. The Commissioner of Police for Delta State, Ari Mohammed Ali was represented by ASP Emmanuel Odemelin.

Also, in attendance were the representatives of the King of Agbarha Kingdom, Warri; Chief Obelikpeya Kpesu Benard, the Ebruphiyo of Agbarha Kingdom, Warri and Chief Francis Ugbejevure, the Ogovwie of Agbarha Kingdom, Warri. While the Orosuen of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri was represented by Chief Godwin Iyara, the Aruere of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, Chief Ochuko Maduku, the Oyivwi of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri and Chief Fedrick Dolor, the Uruemuesiri of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri.

The Officiant at the Service was the Chairman of the Assembly of the Lord’s Ministry Elders (ALME), Brother (Pa) Joel Olusola Solupeju, who also read the charge to the Executive Board members as well as the benediction. The Sermon for the day, The Foundation of God Standeth Sure, was discoursed by Brother Emmanuel Oriaku, the Acting Publicity Secretary of the Church.

Goodwill messages were read by the Chairman of the Laity Officers Committee, Brother Joel Omare, the Chairman of the Youth Fellowship, Brother Precious Ejenake and that of the Women Fellowship, read on their behalf by Brother Chinedu Agabaenwere, the Vice Chairman of the GKS Laity. GKS foreign Branches read a joint address through the Chairman of GKS London Branch, Brother Gboyega Obefemi.

There were musical presentations by various choral groups as well as the GKS Choir Warri. In his acceptance speech, the President thanked the members for their show of love for God and His work and pledged on behalf of the Executive Board of GKS to strive to discharge their duties creditably by the grace of God.
