Beginning from Sunday October 4, 2020, the God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), the Church of the Living God, would be holding her annual Freedom Day Divine Services to mark the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, more than 2000 years ago.
According to the General Secretary of the Church, Bro. Michael Ekiseowei, the festival will be low-keyed with branches of the Church in Nigeria and the United Kingdom (UK) celebrating simultaneously at Branch level on Sunday, October 4, 2020. But on the third Sunday, October 18, 2020 the Divine Service would be streamed online for members in the United States, Canada, Liberia, Ghana and other parts of the world due to their time zone.
On Sunday, October 25, 2020, there will be a 2-hour live streaming of the Freedom Day service from the headquarters, Warri to all branches at 10.00a.m. (Nigerian Time). The seating arrangement would be in compliance with State Government directives, while canopies may be provided, in accordance with existing directives. Apart from observing social/physical distancing, the members were advised to observe other COVID 19 protocols such as use of sanitizers and temperature reading machines and washing of hands.
The Freedom Day celebration is an occasion for lovers of truth and righteousness to honour the Almighty God and His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ who came to free mankind from sin and death. It is also an opportunity to soberly reflect on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ in order to rededicate oneself anew to righteousness by the grace of God.
Yours faithfully,
Benedict Hart,
Publicity Secretary, GKS
