God’s Kingdom is the universal empire or government of righteousness and peace covering the heavens and the earth to be inhabited by spirit persons and human beings under the control of Jehovah the Almighty God.
Jesus Christ is the appointed King and head of the kingdom. Human beings have tried various forms of government, beginning from monarchy started by Nimrod, (Genesis 10:8-10), to democracy which is practised in many parts of the world but none has been able to satisfy the needs of man. Men have even set up international institutions for the purpose of ensuring peace and happiness for mankind through joint efforts, but they have being of no avail as far as permanently solving human problems are concerned.
Only in God’s Kingdom will there be no more poverty, wars, sickness, and death. The peace in the new order to be established by God would be so pervasive that even animals will not be hostile to one another. Even natural disasters would be no more.
“And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.” (Isaiah 32:17, 18) “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.” And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” – Revelation 21:4, 5.
