Theme: Tolerance and Peaceful Co-existence
Text: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9.
Comment: The Holy Bible clearly shows that God Almighty is exceedingly tolerant in His attitude towards men. If He were to punish people according to their sins, no one would be alive (Psalm 130:3, 4). Indeed, as the Psalmist said, “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” (Psalm 103:13, 14). However, God’s attribute of tolerance towards men is no license for them to continue in wrong doing, but to give them the opportunity to hear His word so as to repent of their sins. – Romans 6:1, 2; Ezekiel 18:30-32.
