THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC: PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
Unto JEHOVAH the Almighty God, the Owner and Preserver of life, be glory, honour and praises forever.
Further to our circular on the above topic dated 17th March 2020, the Executive Board of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS) – The Church of the Living God – hereby directs as follows:
That Divine Services in all Branches be put on hold for the next three (3) weeks, that is, from Sunday, March 29 to Sunday April 12, 2020. However, Divine Services will be held online and streamed live from Salem City, Warri. Members are advised to hook up so as not to miss out on Divine Services completely for the period by the grace of God The links are as follows:

Mid-Week Bible Study Meetings in all Branches will not hold for the next three (3) weeks i.e. Wednesday, April 1, 8 and 15, 2020. However, there will be online Bible Study Meeting to be streamed live from Salem City, Warri from 5.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. on Wednesdays (Nigerian Time). Howbeit, those who cannot join online should remain at home with their families to worship, study and pray by God’s grace. Pease see Matthew 18:20
All scheduled Public Lectures, Doctrinal Services, Conferences, Conventions, Choir Concerts/Competitions, Quarterly Mass Meetings, Groups/Tribal Meetings, Prayer Meetings are hereby suspended until further notice.
The Lord’s Ministry will conduct morning and evening Prayer Meetings online at 7.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. respectively everyday (except on Wednesday evenings) It will be streamed live. Members should endeavor to join by God’s grace.
Members who have marriage or burial ceremonies would do well to postpone them, but if they must hold, then, they should apply discretion by ensuring that they abide by the directive of the government that not more than 50 people should assemble at a time. But where the government has suspended all assemblies, then marriages and burials in such areas should be postponed.
These measures would be reviewed as circumstance dictate by the grace of God.
Central Working Committees (CWCs) and Administrative Committees of the various Zones and Branches should please ensure that these instructions are followed strictly and diligently by the grace of God. Steps should be taken to secure our Service Halls. Furthermore, we wish to advise members that they should economize on the use of resources as scarcity of essential items may be imminent. Members will do well to buy and stock up on foodstuffs and other necessary items to cushion the effects of the prevailing crisis by the grace of God.
We hereby reiterate our earlier admonition that members should strive to comply with the directives issued by the government to ensure the health and well-being of the people.
For the period that Services will not hold, members who want to pay their tithes, vows and offerings, etc. should pay to the GKS Church account numbers. They are First Bank – 2017715917, UBA – 1000444050, and Zenith Bank – 1010821553.
It is our bounden duty in the Lord to once again remind members that the present pandemic is in fulfilment of the prophecy of our Lord Jesus Christ to the effect that the last days would be full of distresses and perplexities with men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things that are coming upon the earth. (Luke 21:25,26) Then in Luke 21 verse 28, our Saviour stated: ”And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads (i.e. exercise faith in God Almighty and His son Jesus Christ); for your redemption draweth nigh.”
Our Saviour exhorted us further: ”And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. Watch ye therefore, and pray always; that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” – Luke 21:34-36.
We pray JEHOVAH the Almighty God to protect His children in every part of the world from this pandemic so that we may be safe in His hands as to continue to worship Him in spirit and in truth by His grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
