Text: “In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.” – Isaiah 26:1, 2.
Comment: The Kingdom of God is described as The Holy City, the New Jerusalem. (Revelation 21:2) Those who have the opportunity to be ushered into this Holy City, which is an unmerited favour, will be free from the vicissitudes of life because God shall wipe away all tears. There shall be no sorrow, no death, no crying and no pain because all former things are passed away. Besides, man will be made to be more precious than gold. (Revelation 21:4; Isaiah 13:12; 65:17-25) These, and many more, are the blessings that will accrue to those who fulfil the purpose for which they were created by God. (1 Corinthians 2:9, 10) As we meditate upon the word of God today, let us remember His purpose for us and see to it that we strive to do things that will please the Almighty God our Maker at all times. – See 1 Thessalonians 4:1.
