Theme: IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD
Text: “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And all the angels stood round about the throne… Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” – Revelation 7:9, 11, 12.
Comment: The above narrative is a reminder of the revelation made to John the Apostle, by Jesus Christ, pointing to the deliverance awaiting the people of God, from the pending Battle of Armageddon, to enter into the third world, which Saint Paul designates, “world without end”. (Ephesians 3:21) We can recall the incident after the miraculous crossing of the Red Sea, wherein Moses and the children of Israel sang in praise of God’s majesty and supremacy over their adversary, Pharaoh and the Egyptians. (Exodus 15:1-11) This is typical of the reaction of the survivors of Armageddon who had “palms in their hands”, signifying rejoicing or celebration, giving thanks to God Almighty. From thenceforth, according to God’s grand arrangement, man shall perpetually spend his years living a life of thanksgiving. – Isaiah 51:3, 11; 65:17-19.
