Theme: Casting All Our Burden On The Lord

Text: “I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul”. – Psalm 142:4.

Comment: In the world today, some are going through very cruel and unfair treatment because of their low status in life. In places of work, the junior ones are made to work for longer hours in unpleasant work environment in spite of poor health and low pay. Sometimes, in such work places, appeals from subordinates for sick leave on grounds of poor health or for salary increment to meet up huge family responsibilities are not attended to, thus, bringing tears to the eyes of such ones as they may have no one to turn to for help. King Solomon attested to this when he said: “So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter”. Ecclesiastes 4:1.

The Holy Bible gives the firm assurance that God Almighty will come to the aid of persons in difficult situations when they cry to Him for help. The Psalmist said: “For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper”. Psalm 72:12. See also Psalm 34:6.
