Theme: Fortitude
Text: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, and help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10.
Comment: Here is a statement from God Almighty about fortitude. God made a categorical statement here to true believers, those who worship Him in spirit and in truth. In its original context, the statement is directed to Israel, but it applies to spiritual Israel as well, that is, true Christians living in the world today. This is a promise of God to His people. Strength from God comes through prayer, faith, and doing of God’s will. If we are strengthened by God, the fruits of the spirit will be in us. (Galatians 5:22, 23) Therefore, unshaken belief in God’s help makes it possible for us to show fortitude in times of adversity. – Proverbs 3:5-7.
