Text: “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” – Proverbs 24:10.
Comment: In this age of the last days, the Bible shows clearly that events that will unfold will threaten the hearts of some people “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, Without natural affection, despisers of those that are good, highminded, lovers pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
In times of severe trials and temptations as we see in the world today, the first point of contact is self-examination. (2 Corinthians 13:5) And when that is done, if we are not guilty of any sin before God, (as was the case of Job), it will therefore be necessary, to commit such situations to God in Prayers.
Although few there be who understand, that one powerful weapon in dealing with temptation is Prayer, which is a solemn request, petition and thanksgiving to God. The Bible says: “…pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16) As Christians, the text for today strengthens us to be aware, that temptations must come our way, but when it comes, we should exercise implicit faith in God Almighty.
