Theme: GOOD HEART CONDITION IN GOD'S SERVICE
Text: “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” – Isaiah 14:13, 14.
Comment: Lucifer was a mighty angel in heaven, endowed with beauty and other good attributes. (Ezekiel 28:13) In course of time, he thought in his heart to be like the Most High Who created him. While he thought on this evil desire and pondered over this inordinate ambition in his heart, God saw it and passed His judgement on him. (Isaiah 14:12-19) Concerning him, God said, “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.” (Ezekiel 28:15,17) After his fall, he was given the ominous titles of Devil, Satan, Dragon and Serpent. (Revelation 12:9) The day of God’s destruction on him is fast approaching. (Romans 16:20) Let us learn from this example and refrain from evil thoughts by God’s grace.
