Theme: Guiding Against Despair

Text: “And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” – Matthew 26:39.

Comment: We should emulate Jesus Christ on how he handled difficult and challenging circumstances without despair. He prayed for God’s intervention, saying, “My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.”(John 4:34) We should always remember to be guided by the inscription in all GKS Service Halls: “Thy Will Be Done O! JEHOVAH!” Worshippers of God should therefore, emulate our Lord who was humble enough to accept the will of God even unto death. The Bible says that Christ being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death”. – Philippians 2:5-8.
