Theme: DANIEL AND THE THREE FAITHFUL JEWS

Text: “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” – 1 Peter 3:12.

Comment: In a world full of trouble at the instance of Satan the devil, the righteous must go to the Almighty in prayer as man is not sufficient of himself. (2 Corinthians 3:5) The Scriptures give ample examples of men and women of old who understood the efficacy of prayers when faced with daunting challenges that threatened their lives A case in point is that of the man Daniel, who when confronted with an obnoxious and evil law by the pagan King at the time, continued in his habitual routine prayers to God Almighty three times daily. Concerning him, the Scriptures states: “…he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” – Daniel 6:10.

We should therefore not despair when our faith is tempted by ungodly laws or high-sounding threats. Instead, we should, by faith, react positively by going to our heavenly Father through Jesus Christ in prayers, who in due time shall grant our hearts’ desires by His grace. See Matthew 21:21, 22; James 5:16.
